I was selected to be the scenic designer for the 2018 Mainstage production of The Foreigner performed in SCAD's Mondanaro theater. I was responsible for developing a scenic design concept based on the script, building a 3D model of the design, creating a technical drawing package for the technical director, and creating elevations for the scenic artists.
For this design, the audience is meant to feel as if they are sitting inside Betty Meek's bed and breakfast. Detailed set decoration and personalized furniture create an authentic atmosphere, and the audience is placed inside the play by the extending logs that reach twenty feet past the proscenium before splintering off.
